LIFEGUARD

**The Lifeguard position is Seasonal**

(Mid-April through Mid-September with hiring and training beginning as early as December)

Lifeguards are expected to ensure a safe and fun environment for all park guests while consistently enforcing rules and watching their designated zones of water. Lifeguards are also required to respond in an emergency and provide care within the scope of their training.

Minimum Qualifications

16 years of age or older; OR 15 years of age with a worker's permit

Lifeguard certifications from StarGuard Elite

• SGE Lifeguard Certification can be gained through the City of Collinsville at no cost to the employee. However, employment cannot be provided without certification. Certification must include the ability to pass all in-water skill tests, CPR, and a written test.

Flexible scheduling that accommodates mornings, evenings, weekends, and summer holidays

Ability to work effectively with supervisors, staff, and guests

Ability to act quickly, competently, and effectively during emergencies

Dependable attendance for regular shifts and in-services

Preference

Familiarity with aquatics, swimming, and/or swim lessons.

Individuals who are team-oriented with positive, can-do attitudes.

Physical Requirements

•Ability to walk, run, stand, sit and complete a variety of motor skills
•Ability to walk and/or stand on concrete for the majority of your shift
•Ability to bend to the floor and reach overhead
•Ability to lift and carry 30-70 pounds regularly to chest height
•Ability to hear and see well

•Ability to work in a loud, fast-paced environment

Pay Rate

This position is $15.25 per hour.
