CAMP COUNSELOR

*Seasonal Position (Mid-May through mid-August with hiring and training beginning in May)

The City of Collinsville's Park and Recreation Department is planning for fun children's programs this summer and is looking for Summer Camp Counselors. The City is looking for kind and hardworking individuals to help care for our campers whilst sharing a talent they are passionate about. The Camp Counselor position is seasonal. Camp starts at the end of May and goes through mid-August. Camp hours are from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm Monday through Friday.

Camp Counselors assist with swimming, craft activities, field trips, athletics, and other fun and educational camp activities. Preferred counselors enjoy working with children and those with prior summer camp experience. All successful Camp Counselors must be able to pass a criminal background check.

Minimum Qualifications

17 years of age or older

Flexible schedule, as Camp Counselors may work up to 40 hours per week.

Experience and/or desire to work with children in all settings.

Leadership skills. Camp Counselors will be leading activities such as crafts and art, demonstrating various techniques and encouraging children to come up with ideas.

Health and safety knowledge to help keep all campers safe.

First Aid and CPR training are preferred.

Pay Rate

This position is $15.00 per hour.
